In 2016, Creative Services Manager Jeffery Grampovnik spearheaded a new creative operations strategy that would eliminate his need for cumbersome tracking spreadsheets, improve collaboration, and ensure that all product launches and deliverables were managed effectively.

BACKGROUND

As a small part of the 500-person company, the creative services team at Klein Tools is tasked to continually strengthen their brand in a competitive marketplace, producing both digital and print content.

THE PROBLEM

Prior to using Slope, the team tracked all their deliverables in a burdensome spreadsheet. However, launch dates were constantly changing, it was difficult to hold different team members accountable for work, and communication between managers and people executing tasks was inefficient.

Klein Tools was missing a defined process for tracking projects, making it easy for projects to become muddled or dropped. Plus, there wasn’t a formalized work request process–a painful gap for a team tasked to support the large organization.
