BOOK A DEMO

LAGOS was founded in Philadelphia in 1977 by master jeweler, Steven Lagos. The brand pioneered a new category of jewelry, making fine jewelry accessible and wearable for all occasions. Through the unmistakable signature design of Caviar, LAGOS conveys a vision of bold femininity, and inspires women to create their own signature looks: MY LAGOS MY WAY. LAGOS is available at LAGOS.com, its flagship boutique in Philadelphia, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and independent jewelers around the country.

Team BACKGROUND

There are 20+ people on the marketing and creative services teams at LAGOS, and they are in charge of growing sales and maintaining the integrity of the brand’s look and feel from emails to packaging.

"LAGOS utilizes a blend of in-house and agency talent, relying heavily on internal talent for the majority of the work."

About 4 years ago, the creative services department developed a more holistic approach to content production. They utilize a blend of in-house and agency talent, relying heavily on internal talent for the majority of the work. The brand’s vision is crafted, planned by the year, in-house. Agency talent may help bring that vision into focus and serve as support for executing the multitude of assets required.

While the creative services team takes advantage of outside help, the in-house team is hugely important to their success. It makes communication that much easier (especially when they were relying on in-person meetings during review rounds) and allows for greater flexibility.

TEAM Goals

Customer acquisition and brand awareness are the primary content goals for the LAGOS marketing team. Broadly speaking, they hope to achieve their goals through continuing to grow both their digital presence and their internal talent.

As expected from a jeweler, quality is an important standard for LAGOS content. Consistency and brand familiarity is particularly key throughout constant arrival of new products (LAGOS releases 400-500 new designs every year). Impressions, social engagement, and editorial buzz are metrics important to the LAGOS team.

"Customer acquisition and brand awareness are the primary content goals for the LAGOS marketing and creative team."

Problem

Before using Slope, LAGOS almost exclusively used email to manage their content production. Assets were being passed back and forth as attachments or physical printouts; conversations were taking place both in email chains and in person.

This increasingly fragmented process caused details to fall through the cracks and left stakeholders without crucial details.

Solution

Now that LAGOS has switched over to Slope, the biggest advantage comes from consolidating their workflow management into one location. Every aspect of a project’s requirements from objective to specs to timing are all in one place and clearly accessible by all of the parties involved (in addition to the creative services team, almost everyone on their 20 person marketing team uses Slope).

The team’s designer and coordinator are Slope’s superusers: the coordinator is able to build out projects with all of the information that the designer needs to then execute on. Stakeholders have a simple method of engaging in the review and approval process, and managers can easily get an overall understanding of where work is in the pipeline.

LAGOS also notes how happy they are with Slope’s customer service; in particular, Slope’s availability and ability to take feedback seriously. They find this highly valuable and a factor in everyone’s collective enthusiasm for using the tool. Between Slope’s ability to consolidate LAGOS’s content workflow and outstanding customer service, using Slope has kept the LAGOS team organized when dealing with the influx of projects.
